It was March 2017, and after some months of cogitation about buying a cruising yacht which would take us comfortably around the blue sphere we rejected Oyster, Discovery, HR etc and decided to look for an Amel Yacht. We looked at the 55, decided it was too big. looked at the SM, decided it was too small and settled on the 54.
We found Stella lying in the Italian Riviera, having been little used in her first 7 years of life. She looked fantastic and her previous owner, who was giving up sailing after many years, was happy to see Stella spread her wings. We sold Trifin, our Beneteau 423 and bought Stella.
It was of course much more complicated than that, but the long and complicated version requires beer, bubbles and nibbles and a long summer evening to do it justice.
